A trusted network of sporting connections from a passion for Judo, that has given me 35 years of sport exchange networks of close trusted friends in these countries.

In Japan, I have worked through the Australian Japan Business Council (WA), helping to connect Australian and Japanese people and companies on an enterprise level but also on a sport, social and cultural level. The development of University and High School Judo Sports exchange between Australia and Japan, over the past 35 years, has given me the honour of a Japanese Foreign Ministry Commendation, and many connections in Japan.

My background in equity capital markets – including lead broker on numerous IPOs including Independence Group (ASX: IGO), Medusa Mining (ASX: MML), Kingsrose Mining (ASX: KRM) and IndoBara (Unlisted), and 20 years at Alto Capital – means I understand how to structure, fund and execute. The combination of cultural access and capital markets discipline is rare. That is Riley Road Group.

Stockley Davis has been building relationships across Japan and Indonesia since the age of thirteen — long before it was a business strategy. His father served as marine advisor to Pertamina Tomkin, Indonesia's national oil company, in the 1970s. Starting with Christmas holidays in 1973, Stockley has been connected to Indonesia. Wherever he went, he took his Judogi and usually found a practice. Over 35 years as a Judoka, Judo Coach and finally as Director of International Exchange at the UWA Judo Club, he trained with many who became lifelong friends.

In Japan the network is equally deep, which started from a sport exchange background as a young Graduate in Economics from UWA in 1993. On returning from living in Japan for several years, Stockley started a career as a stockbroker, but Japan never left him as he helped develop International Sports exchanges between Japan and the current Top Judo Club in Australia, UWA Judo Club. The university exchange programmes have produced generations of professionals who know Stockley by name.

After a successful 25 years as a corporate stockbroker — supporting and advising startups, funding projects, structuring deals and listing ASX companies — Stockley seeks to combine his corporate experience and deep connections to Japan and Indonesia, to bring Mutual Benefit and closer business ties between Australia, Japan and Indonesia.
